In a post apocalyptic nuclear bunker, the three last politicians must compete in a battle of wits and backstabbing to decide who gets the final can of food. I was brought on as lead art director working with a small team. This project was a beautiful challenge, as we decided to build an underground bunker in a studio. This was the biggest studio build I have done yet, and couldn't be happier with the results. Released soon.
A short silent film that explores themes of depression through a leaking celling. The dripping gets harder to ignore, as it follows the protagonist through her daily routine. Until she is unable to ignore it further, left surrounded in her dripping apartment. I was the art director/production designer on this film, heavily inspired by the work of 'Olafur Eliassion' and his water based illusions. As the film progresses it gets visually darker and decays, through props and set dressing. Working with water effects was very interesting and taught me how to be creative with effects.
A short LGBTQ queer horror film. Aiming to provide more positive representation within the community. The film focuses on the last 15 minutes of a proposed longer slasher film. My role on this film was art director and SFX makeup artist. This was a passion project for me, as much as I love classical slasher films the gender stereotypes needed change. As a member of the queer community, better representation within film is very important to me. The films' set dressing was an omage to 80s slasher films.
Shown at KIFF international festival.
A short fiction drama that follows a legendary comedian coming out of retirement for one last show. During the rehearsals he has to contend with his recently discovered dementia, which is hidden to all but his son. Dementia is a topic that is very negatively represented in film, having witnessed the different stages myself it's important to show respect for the subject as well as light hearted warm moments. I was the acting producer of this film, as well as Art Department assistant. There was many logistical errors along the making of this film, but with an amazing team we came up with creative solutions, to create this timeless piece.
